We Stand with Texas.

We have all watched in horror over the last few days as communities in Texas and Louisiana have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey and the catastrophic flooding it has caused. Dozens of Clubs have been impacted by the storm and floods. Thousands of Club kids, families, staff, and volunteers have lost their homes with little to no access to basic needs.

With our school year programming beginning next week, Columbus Clubs will be starting the year with a focus on service projects that will raise aid for our peers in Houston and surrounding areas. Locally, we will be encouraging our youth to think creatively and empowering them make a difference in the aftermath of this incredible damage.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America is coordinating relief efforts for Clubs impacted by Hurricane Harvey so we can directly support our friends through donations and volunteer efforts. We have an incredible opportunity to leverage the power of the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement – and our youth here in Columbus – to make a difference to our fellow citizens who are suffering in the aftermath of this unprecedented storm.

We are committed to standing by these Clubs during the lengthy process of rebuilding and encourage our Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus family to directly support damaged Clubs with the process of rebuilding and repairing. All kids deserve access to their Great Futures, and it is our responsibility to help them reach it.
