Director of Career & Workforce Readiness

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio (BGCCO), an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, enables young people to reach their full potential by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.

 

BGCCO is seeking a dynamic and caring leader that has a passion for youth and the community along with a proven track record of getting results in the right way to manage a new program focused on teen strategies with an emphasis on youth employment.  This key position will manage the partnerships/relationships with employers and other organizations for the purpose of gaining employment for teen youth.  It will also have elements of recruitment, planning, and facilitation of learning experiences for the teens in the program.

Job Title:           Director of Career & Workforce Readiness

Location:          Columbus, Ohio

Job Status:       Full-time, Exempt

Reports To:      Chief Operating Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all internal and external partnerships/relationships who support the program’s objective
  • Lead a team of 2-3 part-time Job Coaches who will support and guide a group of teens
  • Manage and contribute to the development of the program budget
  • Plan, facilitate and lead quarterly teen town halls
  • Facilitate learning experience workshops and coordinate subject matter experts when needed
  • Support and drive recruitment to the club and program
  • Manage the club’s career tracking system to ensure the program’s objectives are met

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with command and humility (oral & written)
  • Thought leader in program development
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence in public speaking

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of proven experience working with teenagers required
  • Strong working knowledge of current trends with teens including social media platforms
  • 3+ years of demonstrated leadership and supervision of a team
  • Working experience with Microsoft & database management applications
  • Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Satisfactory results of a criminal background check required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be in the field 50% of the time
  • Ability to work non-traditional work hours
