At Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus, we know youth need a safe and enriching place to go in the summer. Our members receive the same great Club experience offered during the school year but with extended hours focusing on academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
A summer learning loss prevention program that is comprised of one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school, and high school students. Each module takes a project-based learning approach: youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, creative expression, group work, and a final project or production. As a result, kids develop high-order thinking skills necessary for success in math, reading, science, and other disciplines through the Summer Brain Gain modules while staying on track for the coming year.
“The summer is really fun because we get to go swimming and play dodgeball. I like it because we get to know the staff better and see our friends who we don’t see during the school year. My favorite thing we did last summer was the water balloon toss.”
